Howdy. This is Shawn, founder and executive director of Distant Mountain Productions, a company producing thoughtful and entertaining video on demand.
This site is not yet ready, but I wanted to take this opportunity to explain what this project is about and why I think it's important.
Company Status
Distant Mountain Productions is a start-up with a number of projects in various stages of development. We are currently pursuing the setup of the business in the United States and will be seeking venture capital and advertisers as soon as the legal work is done.
Our Shows
Our shows fall into five general categories: Travel, Food, Sports, Music, Political. Shows are delivered either in long form or documentary/travelogue style.
Show content details alternative viewpoints, ideas or forms of expression not typically featured in mainstream media, and though the shows may vary greatly, the focus is always on the conscientious and compassionate treatment of the people around us.
I am inspired by shows like On Surfari to follow a long-time dream of producing entertaining television with a purpose.
What's the Plan?
At present, I am developing and writing for around a dozen different show ideas. These will form the basis for production which I hope to begin in 2011. I am also currently looking for technical assistance (videographers, producers, directors, etc.) that would be interested in helping with production when the time comes.
Shows will be delivered exclusively online via streaming or digital download.
